![]() Well, today was the last day of summer work. We've had so much help this summer, but no one put in more hours than Samuel's Gran and Grandad. I think my dad is the only person who worked every day that I did... so much for retirement. We're not finished with everything yet, but the "to do" list is much shorter than the "done" list, and we couldn't have done it without all their help. Teachers start on Monday, students arrive on Wednesday. { Friday, August 24, 2007 | Comment # } Finally, some roof photos for Kevin & Somchai. Compare to the house when we bought it: ![]() Front side roof, with a small preview of the white house color and new roof: ![]() Roof detail: ![]() And hair detail, for Barry: ![]() Sam is still working hard on his baby mullet -- bald in front, party in the back. { Sunday, August 19, 2007 | Comment # } ![]() ![]() Sam's first ear of corn on the cob. Fun to eat, but not his new favorite food. Beth and Sam have been in Georgia and Virginia all week, but I've had plenty to keep me busy here. New pine floors in the bedroom and entry are almost done, and the roofers will most likely be finished today. I'll post some new house photos when the roofers are done. { Wednesday, August 15, 2007 | Comment # } ![]() Great Summer Discovery #1: Wadleigh State Park is free for Sutton residents and only about 4 miles from our house. Great Summer Discovery #2: No one is there Monday-Friday, so it's like having our own private beach. In the evening we feed Samuel, head over for a relaxing swim, and then Samuel falls asleep on the way home so that we can enjoy our supper on the porch. { Tuesday, August 07, 2007 | Comment # } |
