![]() Beth and Samuel had a great day in Lebanon with Sadie and Ann. They visited the Montshire Museum of Science and did a little shopping. They returned home with a snazzy new red hat (thanks Sadie!), good bread (our favorite ciabatta), and a desire to become members at the Montshire. You'll notice a new section below: Photographing. It should be an easier way to revisit all your favorite Samuel photos, rather than having to navigate through our archives. { Sunday, January 28, 2007 | Comment # }

![]() Helping me choose a CD was minutes of fun. I think Samuel finally decided on Pig Lib. { Tuesday, January 23, 2007 | Comment # } ![]() Even though we only had three days of school this week, I haven't had much time to sit at the computer. Last weekend these two (OK, mostly Beth) threw me a surprise birthday party at Krista and Taylor's house. I really was surprised, and it was great to have so many people there to celebrate my officially becoming old. Thanks you guys. On a down note, Beth and Samuel were in a bit of a car accident on Thursday. Someone pulled out in front of Beth at a confusing intersection near our house. Beth is a little sore, Samuel didn't even notice anything happened, and we think the Focus is going to be totaled. I guess we're going to go look at cars today and see what's out there. { Saturday, January 20, 2007 | Comment # } ![]() Samuel had to help his Papa open this present, which I think was actually from Samuel. However, the present Papa seemed to like best was the present he gave to Samuel. Papa is famous for giving unique gifts, and this year he found a five foot tall lighthouse bank for Samuel, complete with flashing lights and a fog horn that activates when you make a deposit. We weren't able to bring that home on the train. { Saturday, January 13, 2007 | Comment # } ![]() Both of our families (and probably most of yours) have the Christmas morning tradition of making the kids wait in the other room while parents ready cameras to capture the excitement of seeing what Santa brought. Growing up, our wait seemed to last forever as we waited for my mom to get her camera put together and charge the flash. It would seem that you only stop being one of the kids when one of the kids is your own, so this year was my first at the top of the stairs with camera, and here is Samuel getting his first glimpse of what Santa brought. Actually, I think he is more likely looking at his Nana, who was beside herself with excitement. Consensus was that it was a lot fun having a real kid around again (Tim, on the right, hasn't been a real kid for a while, and is even less a kid now that he is Uncle Tim) for Christmas morning. Samuel has his first cold. Snot abounds. (I know this story isn't very timely, but I've been busy.) { Monday, January 08, 2007 | Comment # } ![]() We were able to visit three of Samuel's great grandparents during our trip to the south, including Great Gramma, pictured here in the obligatory picture of the gathered generations. More pictures of Samuel with his Virginia relatives to follow. We were wearing short sleeves again today as temperatures soared into the 60s. Of course, when I decided to take Mable for a walk to enjoy the warmth, things took a turn for the wet. Sun turned to drizzle and then a downpour. It reminded me of so many unexpected showers on the AT, and I was so happy to return to a house instead of a soaking tent. Will we be ambitious enough this summer to attempt a backpacking excursion with a baby? { Saturday, January 06, 2007 | Comment # } |
