![]() Sutton, New Hampshire We had a very nice weekend visiting friends and their new baby, and then lunching and bowling with the family. HCM was very nice to everyone on his birthday and let all of us beat him by a mile at bowling. This week we're going to try these tasty tofu burgers from the vegan firefighters, as we have grown rather tired of Garden Burgers. I figure if anyone knows about burgers its firefighters. { Sunday, March 26, 2006 | Comment # } ![]() New London, New Hampshire With spring (and the associated yard-work) coming, it is good to remind yourself of your yard-care philosophy. One day of skiing makes your legs sore. Two days in a row makes your whole body sore. On the plus side, I feel like I made some progress technique-wise and stopped dragging my poles. If you're interested in some good telemark tips, look here. 2. Pat's Peak is small. We skied Duster, Cyclone, Tornado, and Twister about one hundred times each. They've also added a groomed section to Hurricane that has made it possible to tuck Hurricane, so that's what people do. [For those of you who didn't grow up skiing at The Peak, Hurricane used to be a really steep, ungroomed trail that went right under the lift. We always hoped that someone would be stupid enough to go down it so we could laugh at them while they struggled to get down in one piece. Now kids scream at the people tucking, probably hoping they'll fall.] { Thursday, March 02, 2006 | Comment # } |
