Who said NH winters were long? This winter seemed downright short to me. The daisies will be blooming soon enough. Until then, we have mud.

(Winter probably seems really short if you spent part of it in Florida, like everyone we know did.)

Dan has asked how people go about rating their music in iTunes, and I feel obligated to respond. Guys love organizing their music.

I have taken new interest in rating my music since getting my iPod, and my rating system is very much influenced by what I want to hear on my iPod.

  • 1 star: Songs I don't like. Songs that should be deleted from my computer.
  • 2 stars: "That was just okay for me, dawg." Songs by good bands that I would rather not hear on a regular basis.
  • 3 stars: Solid songs that I don't mind hearing on a regular basis. Anything above 3 stars is iPod worthy. By far my most common rating. 3 stars says, "I really like you, but I don't love you."
  • 4 stars: I love you. Songs that are so good that I worry I might listen to them too much and get sick of the song.
  • 5 stars: Rarely given. If I wonder if it deserves a 5 or not, then it doesn't deserve it. Dan and I agree that Remember the Mountain Bed deserves a 5. As does Send in the Clouds.

  • New item below in the "Linking" section that will let you see what I'm listening to.
  • I can solve the Rubik's Cube in under 3 minutes. Long story.
  • We still like snow, but half of our patience is wearing thin. We tried sledding this weekend but the snow was too deep.
  • Some videos (for those of you who don't dial up) of a great band -- Ted Leo & The Pharmacists. I recommend "Timorous Me".

Here is a short, sweet, and sad little story to start your day off right. Don't worry -- it has a happy ending.

Mable received a nice email today from Sharpshin, the first person we met on the A.T. Sharpshin is a very skilled artist, as you can see. Does anyone want to guess what those little brown bits are?
