Beth and I have been out enjoying the snow, but not as much as these guys.

Please, never forget the importance of song selection.

Beth and I went skiing at Sunday River this weekend with the Morrill family. It was our first time skiing in a couple years. It felt good to make some turns, though I don't think my technique is improving much when I only ski once every two years. What I need is a $1 ski hill like the one that Krista and Taylor showed us in Wolfeboro, then I could practice on the cheap. I think we'll be keeping an eye out for teaching jobs in Wolfeboro.

We only saw three to five other telemark skiers on the slopes, which is a lot fewer than I expected. Everyone must have been out in the backcountry. Or maybe it was too cold for them.

So today our legs are sore and our cheeks are pink.

This week has been a good one. The Patriots won, and I guess they're a dynasty now. I still can't muster the same enthusiasm for the Pats that I can for the Red Sox. I think I just like baseball better. One week until spring training.

Continuing with the good, a young man I know got his first wheels. They're all wood as far as I can tell, except for the actual wheels which are definitely plastic.

We also went snowshoeing with Doug and jumped off things into the snow that had not yet melted. Don't tell anyone, but Doug needed a little fun to take his mind off breaking his parent's toilet.

Here's hoping for a lot of snow tonight.

I cut my finger very badly a little while back while cutting an onion. Sharp knives are one part of not getting cut. The other part is proper cutting technique. So that none of you are injured in the kitchen I offer you a link to How to Cut, which offers very detailed instructions for cutting vegetables. Righty and lefty versions are available.

And the biggest news of last week is that I'm the first person you know with an iPod Shuffle. This is definitely the music player for ultra-light backpackers -- it's the size of a pack of gum, only lighter.
