not sure what's happened to the photos lately.

Listen to an awesome song instead: "Woman King" by Iron & Wine

Mt. Cook, New Zealand (Lomo LC-A)
This was one of the best day-hikes we did in NZ. That's Hooker Glacier at the far end of the lake, and a chunk of glacier floating on the lake over on the right. We arrived at the lake just as the sun dropped below the lesser mountains that surround Mt. Cook. If you scrambled up that slope to the left, you would eventually come to a high pass (at about 8,000 ft.) that would let you drop into a valley on the other side of the ridge. We did an overnight hike up that other valley and we met a family who had done that scramble, with an 8 year-old on tow. That's a pretty hardy 8 year-old.

Concord, New Hampshire (Polaroid)
I just finished my first day at John Stark Regional High School. (When I try to type "stark", my fingers automatically type "start".) John Stark is in Weare (say "where" not "weir"), and you get there by heading out of Concord on Clinton Street and going straight until you come to a stop sign. Mostly people really don't know where Weare is, and they aren't kidding at all when they make a very funny joke about the town's name.

"So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire." -MLK, Jr.

Our good friend Kelly and her musk ox yarn made the front page of the Home and Family section in yesterday's Concord Monitor. Read the article and see her picture.

Long Pond, Maine (Pentax k1000)
This is my cousin Leah, who has a birthday coming up. Leah and the rest of her family sent me a very nice card yesterday, and it reminded me of this photo of her, which I love.

Hiram was in the paper this week talking about salt brine and pointing at nozzles.

Somewhere over the Pacific (Lomo LC-A)
I already posted this on my links page, but it's worth noting twice. Word on the street is that The Silver Jews are working on a new album in Nashville. And it's your favorite version of The Jews -- the version that includes Stephen Malkmus.
