Woodstock, Vermont (Nikon Coolpix 4500) This week's This American Life is worth listening to if you're just sitting around doing work by your computer like I am.

Red Sox win! Red Sox win!
Portland, Oregon (Nikon Coolpix 4500) I received this tidbit in an email from a person who I will allow to remain anonymous:
"Every time the Red Sox have make it to the World Series in a Presidential election year, the Democratic candidate has won. Of course, it has only happened in 1912 and 1916, but I'm willing to accept this as a particularly good omen." Yes, I'm now all Kerry and all Red Sox all the time. Stay tuned for more. { Friday, October 22, 2004 | Comment # }
Lake George, New York (Nikon Coolpix 4500) I like to keep an eye on how the electoral votes are shaping up. If you're wondering who is tipping NH toward Kerry, it's me and the twice a week surveys that I answer. They always want me, not Beth, and I can't figure that out. Anyway, it's that time again...

Lake George, New York (Nikon Coolpix 4500) It's been quite a weekend here. On Friday my dad made it to the top of his final 4,000-footer, Moriah (4049'). It was a gorgeous day for a hike. Now it's my turn to start peak-bagging.
On Saturday, Beth and I drove to Lake George in the Adirondacks where we camped and hiked and looked at foliage and celebrated four years of marriage. Neither of us had ever been to the Adirondacks, and we found it to be very nice this time of year. However, we're not going anywhere near that place in the summer because we don't think it will be quite so peaceful and deserted. We met a dog named Buckles while climbing Buck Mountain. Buckles? What kind of name is Buckles? Lastly, if you're looking for the perfect song for today's sad news, here it is -- Iron & Wine covering The Flaming Lips' "Waitin' for a Superman". (I tried to make the mp3 available on my server, but it doesn't work. Sorry. Just go to this guy's site and give it a listen if you're interested.) { Monday, October 11, 2004 | Comment # }
Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah (Nikon Coolpix 4500) Lemony Snicket and Jack Black talk about weddings. Funny words that JB uses in the interview: grody, bogusity, eye-lasers.
