A new film from "Slacker" director Richard Linklater offers a daring, crackpot vision for the World Trade Center memorial: A 16-acre park full of free-roaming bison.

Just to prove I'm the biggest nerd you know (Dan, you can't really count yourself as a person you know), here is an automatically generated list of what we're listening to on our new iMac. I'll make a permanent link to it somewhere too.

Say ZuZu is calling it quits. It's a sad day for the Sea Coast music scene. Dan and I still like to remember the day we watched Say ZuZu at some stupid festival in the rain and the lead singer kept saying, "We're not seeing enough of THIS!" THIS being the goat-horns.

If you spend any period of your day sitting in front of a computer with a fast connection you should check this out. You have to listen to an add about Ja Rule every 5 or 6 songs, but they only last 30 seconds. Greg, of Greg and Erin fame, told me about this one. Greg is the world's biggest Silver Jews fan, and when he walks into a room the Silver Jews magically start playing. Why can't monsters get along with other monsters?

The Greatest Political Campaign in the History of High School Band:

Heroux – French for Captain
Mielcarz – Polish for First Mate
Morrill – Swahili for Second Mate

It turns out that being funny (and good looking!) isn’t enough to win a band election. I wasn’t in the room when votes were taking, but I suspect foul play. Thinking back, I’m sure that the band director said, “If you vote for those morons, you will not pass this class.” The other funny part is that Heroux was not that bright and wouldn’t have been a great Captain, but Dan and I were going to make him our little puppet so we could force our agenda. Dan, do you remember what our agenda was?

Tim's Cascade Style Hot! Jalapeno Chips are really good, but not in the same way as most chips. Usually I like chips that I can cram in by the fist-full, but Tim wasn't kidding around when he put Hot! on the bag. I have to eat these babies one at a time and wait about 10 seconds between chips. If the chip is too big I have to break it in half before eating it. I think I'll have to start dipping these in sour cream to cool my mouth (and make Beth roll her eyes).

Friday night we went to see 8 Mile and we didn't love it. Sarah's boyfriend told us it was good, but I have to disagree (sorry, Shaun). I had heard the song from the movie and there's a line that says something about the music and the moment and owning it, and I have to back that even if it's coming from Eminem's filthy mouth. However, I didn't see Eminem owning any musical moments in the movie. He just made fun of other rappers more skillfully than they made fun of him. Maybe I just need a dope slap.
