we like snow.

Another busy weekend with guests from around the World. Will was visiting us all the way from New Zealand. He arrived in the U.S. about a month ago and has been traveling and paragliding all along the west coast. Will left us yesterday and is on his way to see another friend in Seattle.

Our friend Joanne arrived Thursday and will be here until tomorrow. She and Beth have gone to drive up Mount Hood today, so I hope the clouds part and they get some good views.

We are also very excited about our trip to NH for Dan and Ann's wedding. We haven't been back to NH for nearly two years, and it's going to be a lot of fun to see all our friends and relatives. It's going to be busy for sure, but fun out the wazoo.

Click To Add Title - A PowerPoint presentation contest. So silly that it's actually entertaining.

The soon to be wed Dan and Ann have a web log now, created using a Mac, and don't you forget it. This blog is created using a PC, but I have nothing against people who use Macs. Actually, I don't really care what kind of computer you use. Maybe if I used a Mac I would feel differently, but I don't use a Mac. I use one of two very old computers that work well for typing and looking at pictures, but not much else. I would actually like to get one of our ancient computers out of the house, but trying to sell it would be silly, and I doubt I could even donate either of them to a school. Maybe I should smash out the glass and make a planter for Beth. Would I be having these thoughts if I used a Mac?

Oh, and we're back from our roadtrip. I will put some pictures up, but probably not until after Dan & Ann's wedding on August 10.

Our new pictures from Steens Mountain are up. The next time we check in will be when we have returned from Montana. You can check out the web site for the dam I'm going to work on - www.FortPeckDam.com.

We spent the long weekend at Steens Mountain in Southeast Oregon. When you think of Oregon you usually think of rain and trees and rain and rain and rain... Well, the fact is that two-thirds of the state is desert, and that includes the SE corner where we spent the holiday. We hiked about 20 miles and spent two nights camping out. I will be putting some pictures up soon and a full description of the trip. It was one of the most beautiful places we've been to, so you can bet that our pictures are mediocre. My photography skillz need work.

Right now we are in the midst of planning for our next adventure to Montana and Wyoming for ten days. Mable, we decided, will not be joining us, and that makes everyone sad. On a happier note, Beth's sister will be joining us for our grand tour of the Northwest States.
