Today's "Word of the Day" from Dictionary.Com:
hirsute \HUR-soot; HIR-soot; hur-SOOT; hir-SOOT\, adjective: Covered with hair; set with bristles; shaggy; hairy. { Wednesday, June 26, 2002 | Comment # } We had a great weekend with our friends Greg & Erin. Saturday night we saw Doug Martsch of Built to Spill play a solo acoustic show. Then, on Sunday we spent the day playing frisbee... first, we played 18 holes of disc golf, then we played in a pick-up game of Ultimate frisbee. Beth has a very curvy throw, but she didn't lose any frisbees. I, however, did lose one. Also, we made waffles from a recipe that called for 2/3 of a cup of oil. They were good. { Monday, June 24, 2002 | Comment # } New: On the pictures page I've added pictures from Sarah and Shaun's visit back in March, and our trip to Seattle in April. I came up with a pop-up window system that makes picture viewing a bit easier. I've also added content to my reading and music pages. Beth has been busy in the garden this week. Yesterday she transplanted her mini-sunflower plants and today she's going to plant tomatoes. Sadly, my attempt at gardening failed. The local cats deposited their droppings all over my hop roots, and killed them. I guess cat cucka is not a good fertilizer. { Thursday, June 20, 2002 | Comment # } Today we're writing from Virginia. The weather has been great all week, but a little rainy yesterday and today. Colin graduated from Annandale High School yesterday, and the big family party, which promises to be a lot of fun, is tomorrow. So far this week we have been to Delaware to visit Jake's parents and grandparents, played in a ping-pong tournament (Beth came in last, and Jake came in third), had a delicious Thai dinner with Beth's aunt Jenny and her family, watched a few movies, and spent a lot of time working on a cork-board that we're giving Colin for his graduation gift. Everyone here is doing very well and it will be sad to say good-bye. { Friday, June 14, 2002 | Comment # } |
