we like snow.

We just returned from a great week in Seattle, and we'll put some pictures up soon. This weekend we've done lots of gardening. I'm growing hops, which is pretty fun. Beth is working on Basil and flowers. I grew some grass too, but that isn't as funn as hops (humulus lupus).

We didn't make it up St. Helens. The weather was terrible -- fog, wind, rain/snow, and freezing temps. Instead we tried to go skiing. (Smart thinking, eh? The weather sucks for climbing, so lets ski instead, in the same bad weather!)

We went to Mt. Hood Meadows and the weather was too poor to actually enjoy skiing, so we headed to a lower elevation area where the weather was OK. Unfortunately, it had rained the night before and the slopes were very icy. Beth fell and hurt her knee. After one run we went in to collect a refund on our tickets (if you ask within the first hour, you get a refund). There was a bit of confusion about wether we were within our first hour and Beth had to raise her voice at the smug customer service man. In the end, we got our refund and had a good laugh about the fight on our way home.

We did find time to build a new planter and Beth painted it with "Heart of Gold." We decided that "Heart of Gold" is actually closer to "School Bus Yellow", but I think it looks nice. Now we just need a plant to put in it.

We're thinking of climbing Mt. Saint Helens(check out this "virtual climb") this weekend and skiing down. Unfortunately, the weather looks crappy and we may have to cancel. I've never been on a mountain over 6,600' and I'm not ready to get lost on a snowfield. If we go, there will be pictures. If it rains, there will be disappointment.

Does anybody have wallpaper removal advice - we're thinking of attempting to remove the 1970's style wallpaper in our bathroom?
