Okay, I hate to be elitist, but I have to draw the line somewhere. From now on, I will not trade with you unless you know the source and generation of your tapes. I've been screwed over too many times on quality, and IMHO knowledge of source/generation info indicates that the person is a respectable trader and knows what an "A" tape sounds like. I don't care if you don't know source/gen. for all of your tapes; I sure don't. But if you don't have it listed for any tapes, I will throw away your e-mail without responding. Sorry to be a jerk, but I'm sick of shitty-sounding tapes that people call "A" quality.

One more thing: I'm sometimes willing to dub tapes for blanks and postage for people who don't have many (or any) tapes. Please keep the number of tapes at 3 or less, though. And before you send me a list of tapes that you want, please take a look at Charlie Dirksen's Grovel Tips. Don't be offended if you never get a response from me, however. It just means I'm too busy.

Grades:
A+=No one in their right mind would be disappointed with the sound quality of 
these tapes. Usually SBD.
A=Still very high quality, little hiss. Usually SBD or low-gen AUD.
A-=A little more hiss (i.e. low levels) and/or a slightly unbalanced sound (i.e. too much bass
or treble).
Still very listenable.
------ There is a large gap between A- and B+ on my list, and I don't recommend tapes below A- ------
B+=More hiss. Instruments less clear and distinct. 
B=I don't really suggest it, unless the tape is rare. Just doesn't sound that good.
B-=Even worse.
NWR=Not worth rating. Really bad.

Source/Generation Legend:
AUD=Audience Tape
SBD=Soundboard Tape
SBD/AUD Mix=Just what it says
FM=FM Broadcast
CD=Bootleg CD (I don't own any, just have tapes from them)
FOB=Front of Soundboard Tape (i.e. Stealth Tape); Only used when a specific taping
section is designated by the band.

A "D" preceding the above source abbreviations indicates a digitally mastered
tape; the absence of a "D" generally indicates that I don't know if the
tape was mastered on DAT or analog tape.

Numbers following the above indicate the generation of the tape;
if no number is listed the generation is unknown.

An "M" following the above indicates a tape that is a master (i.e. it was in the 
analog Sony D-6 that I use for live taping at the show).
In other words, all "M" tapes are ANALOG masters. (Until I buy my DAT, of course ;-)

The microphone I use for audience taping is a Sony ECM-909A, unless I patch in to someone else. 
In that case, the microphone will be noted.
