I think he takes after his father!

DSL is back! In honor of this fact, I give you The Periodic Table in Haiku. (And yes, I am a nerd.)

So you are all probably wondering why I haven't been posting as of late - well, I've been running around learning all about what the Dartmouth campus has to offer and also trying to get professors to agree to let me work in their labs. And also, our damn DSL line is down, so all of my home internet use is over dialup. I had forgotten how much dialup sucks...the slow-ass speed, the random hanging up of the modem, and, best of all, that ear-splitting sound made by the modem as you dial in. I know, I could turn the sound off, but some sick part of me actually has a bit of nostalgia for it.

Welcome to London, Jenny!

A breakfast story for Monday morning.

The morning of Doug's wedding, Dan and Doug woke up early to go golfing. No matter that it was cold, pouring rain and the two of them might have been a little hung over. They were going to golfing. Jake was sensible enough to keep sleeping. Beth and I were sensible enough to get dressed, take my cell phone and go in search of some coffee.

While enjoying our coffee and breakfast, Dan called from the hotel room. They had returned to the hotel room, cold and wet, had woken up Jake and were now asking for a breakfast delivery. To quote Dan, "We need breakfast sandwiches. We need bacon and egg and cheese and sausage and cheese."

Beth and I are nice people, and plus, it was Doug's wedding day, so we decided to endulge the boys and found a deli that made breakfast sandwiches and bought three sausage, egg and cheese english muffin sandwiches, which were happily devoured, despite only including sausage, egg and cheese and not "bacon and egg and cheese and sausage and cheese."

That's why Dan and I have found the recent BurgerKing commercial for the special croissanwich so amusing...this croissant is topped with bacon and egg and cheese and sausage and cheese, just like Dan wanted that fine morning in Maine.

Back to school...
Dan is busily being "oriented" to Dartmouth. Today, he will learn about the library.
I'm working again. My students range from 5 years old to 44 years old.
