UPDATE (9/4/03) Dear Class of 1993, With the help of Brighid and Kristen, we have put a number of class and reunion related pictures online. We have posted the pictures via ofoto.com (owned by Kodak). This site not only lets you view the pictures, but if you desire, you can order any prints for which you might like a copy. We have currently organized the pictures into four main albums:

UPDATE (9/1/03)
Dear ERHS Class of 1993,
Wow! What a blast! Thanks for making our 10 year reunion a resounding
success. It was great to see so many people attend the picnic and reunion.
We probably had close to 200 classmates and guests show up for the Sunday
evening bash (we are still waiting to see what the final tally was once we
review the sign-in sheets). Congratulations to all those that won an
award! We hope everyone had fun catching up with old friends.
Recognition must be made to a number of key people that helped make the
reunion a success. A thank you goes out to Colin Guard for emceeing the
event. Thank you to Marcellus Proctor for organizing the setup and reunion
registration. Special thanks to Mario Hendricks for having someone drive
45 minutes to deliver a laptop; without him the slideshow could not have
happened! Thank you to everyone who donated or loaned us money early on in
the reunion planning -- we would not have been able to meet our early
financial deadlines without you! And thank you to everyone who showed up
and had a blast.
Finally, a very special thank you goes out to Kristen (Mundy) Wells and
Brighid (Harpe) Willson. This reunion would not have happened without
their hard work and the countless hours they volunteered toward the
reunion cause. Kristen managed all financial aspects and budgeting of the
reunion. She collected checks, balanced budgets, and found a DJ, all
without breaking a sweat. Brighid did much of the legwork -- initially
scouting out potential reunion venues, and once the Marriott was chosen,
ironed out many of the small details. She also single-handedly organized
the Saturday picnic and helped with much of the behind-the-scenes work.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
And thanks again to everyone in attendance for making the reunion a
success! See you again in another ??? years!

information about availability of ticket sales at the door, the most
current attendance list, and other vital information regarding the
reunion.
UPDATE (8/26/03); revised (8/29/03)
Hello fellow classmates of '93,
There are just a few days between now and the reunion! Saturday the picnic
will go on from 12 noon til 3 pm at the Greenbelt Park Laurel picnic area.
(In the case of inclement weather--use your best judgement--the picnic
will be cancelled. The forecast calls for a 40% chance of scattered
thundershowers as of today. If the storms are predicted to be isolated or
passing, the picnic will probably go on. Please visit the "latest reunion
updates" site on the picnic day to double-check if you are unsure as to
whether or not the picnic will go on.) We are anticipating a large number
of folks turning up at this event, in the neighborhood of 100 classmates
and family members or more! Remember that this event is free, and you are
responsible for bringing your own food/drink/toys/goodies to feed and
entertain yourselves and each other.
The main event is Sunday night from 8 pm to midnight at the Greenbelt
Marriott. Please visit the class site (listed below) for directions, and
note that the grand ballroom has its own entrance and parking area around
the right side as you pull towards the building.
Tickets are still on sale, for
There have been many more attendees added to the list in the last couple
of weeks since the entire list of attendees went out to the class. We have
included here the latest additions. For a full list of attendees visit the
latest updates page:http://users.starpower.net/gump/Reunion.html
The newest additions:
There are more still rumored to be signing up this week...so there are yet
to be some surprises. Maybe you would like to add your name and payment
and be one of those surprises! If so, please email us to let us know we
will receive electronic or at-door purchase!
See you in a few days!
UPDATE (8/17/03)
Dear Classmates,
We are now just two weeks away from the reunion kick-off with the family
picnic at Greenbelt Park (August 30th from noon to 3 pm). The main
reception event will be the following evening at the Greenbelt Marriott
from 8 pm to midnight. With this closing window of opportunity, the last
push is on for ticket sales.
We are no longer accepting reunion registrations by mail - August 16th was
the last day for ticket purchases to be mailed in. However, we are
pleased to announce that we are able to still offer online ticket
purchasing through PayPal, at a price of $70/ea through August 30th. There
are only a limited number of these tickets available, so BUY EARLY!
This late change in payment-receipt policy was made possible because,
although we have hit our minimum payment owed to Marriott, we still have
not hit the maximum projected number of attendees. This is what has
allowed us to offer a limited number of tickets beyond our initial due
date.
Note: If we have still not hit the maximum, we will accepting payment at
the door, also for the $70/ticket price. This is exciting news, but we
still hope that the lower ticket price and availability might draw your
ticket purchase TODAY instead. If we exceed the maximum and cannot accept
the at-door purchase of tickets, we will post that information on this
website. If you are considering being a last-minute attendee who might try
to purchase an at-door ticket, be sure to check this site frequently to be
sure the offer still stands.
AND HEY! If you haven't already purchased tickets and committed to coming,
what are you waiting for? There are so many good reasons to attend...to
show off the spoils of your current life/lifestyle, to see that old crush,
catch the fun old day and new life photos in our slide show, to chat and
catch up with old friends, to see and potentially receive awards for
questionnaire responses...and hear the stories behind them, indulge
yourself in a fully stocked open bar with beer, wine, mixed drinks, sodas,
juices, and the like, tear up the buffet-style food which will be
replenished throughout the night, enjoy music & dancing, and much more!
For more information about the reunion, military discount on reunion
tickets, use of PayPal, making a donation towards the reunion fund, a list
of attendees, a peek into our graduating class yearbook, and much more,
please visit the reunion-specific website at: http://mail.med.upenn.edu/~wangk/erhs/reunion/
As always, feel free to email any of us with questions. We look forward to
seeing you at the reunion events in just over two weeks!

UPDATE (7/31/03)
Dear '93 Grads,
We are VERY pleased to announce that we have reached our minimum amount
due to Marriott! In turn, we decided, and arranged with with Marriott, to
extend our deadline. The final deadline for ticket
purchase will now stand at August 16th. This means we will be
accepting payment through both PayPal payment (you can use your credit
card!! or personal bank account) online and checks sent to Kristen (Mundy)
Wells for an additional two weeks!
We have been EXTREMELY busy with new registrations in the last week. To
all who have purchased tickets, thank-you for joining us! The attendance
list now stands at more than 135 classmates and guests. That is a fine
number, but there are still a great number of former 1993 classmates who
have yet to register. For the MOST up-to-date list, please visit the
reunion attendance page.
Recognize names, old friends, old flames? Can't remember the face to go
with a name? Look them up in our ONLINE
YEARBOOK. Come and check them out...see how good ten years has been to
them!

Reception event: Greenbelt Marriott, on Ivy Lane (just off the
beltway and under 1 mi. from Greenbelt metro) on Sunday, August 31st from
8 pm to midnight: buffet-style food fare, OPEN bar with beer, wine, mixed
drinks and the other stuff too, music, dancing, awards, reminiscing,

We look forward to adding YOUR name to the list and seeing you in little
over four weeks!

UPDATE (7/10/03)
Hey Everyone!
Just over 7 weeks to go until our 10 year reunion! We are very excited
that just over 90 folks (classmates and guests) have committed to joining
us. We hope that this number will continue to rise in the next couple of
weeks.
We are pleased to announce that classmates can now make payments or
donations for our reunion through Paypal! Paypal is a free, secure, and
easy way to send money online...payment can either be charged to a credit
card or debited from a bank account. Credit card and banking information
is handled via PayPal and is not sent directly to the ERHS Reunion
Planning Committee. To make a reunion registration payment or donation
using Paypal, click one of the buttons below. In the comments section,
please include your name (including maiden), guest's name, your current
address, phone number, and the number of folks in your family that will be
attending the picnic on Saturday. If you qualify for the military
discount, please click here. Make sure you include the pertinent military information (eg. division and rank) in the comments section as well.
If you have any questions about Paypal, please contact Kristen at
kmundy1@prodigy.net.
Holding our reunion at the Marriott requires us to meet certain deadlines
and pay a set amount in advance for this event. Unfortunately, unlike the
5 year reunion, which allowed entrance to be bought at the door, for this
event YOU MUST PURCHASE TICKETS IN ADVANCE. This means that money needs to
be in to Kristen by the final ticket sale date (July 31st- just three
short weeks away).
We are still soliciting photos (either current or from high school days)
for a slideshow that will be running during the main reunion event. Please
e-mail photos to Ken at wangk@mail.med.upenn.edu. We will also be
compiling these photos in a memory book that will be given out at the main
event. Please update your "Where Are They Now" profile so that we can
include the most up to date information for each classmate.
Please remember that the reason we rival Viagra ads in email frequency is
that we have chosen to go a paperless route with this reunion and,
therefore, rely primarily on the Internet for soliciting new registrants.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this might cause.
We want to send out a special thank you to the many classmates who have
loaned us money for deposits and made contributions to the reunion fund.
We appreciate such generosity and can always use additional donations
toward the reunion fund if you are able to help. Our reunion would not be
possible without the help and support of these folks. We will be showing
our gratitude towards these folks in some way at the reunion.
We hope to see you all in August!
UPDATE (5/24/03)
Dear ERHS93 Classmates,
We are just one week away from our June 1st deadline for the early
registration discount of $50/ticket. After June 1st, ticket costs will
rise to $60! So hurry and get your forms and fees postmarked to us by June
1st.
There has been a lot of interest in the reunion, and we are receiving more
and more registrations every day. To see the current list of attendees,
please visit our reunion specific webpage. Add
yourself to this list!
We have received a few questions and concerns about the reunion, and I
hope that we can address those in this email. Below, I am paraphrasing
some actual questions we have received, and our answers in reply....
**********
Question: I would really like to commit to attending the reunion, but I am
in the military, and can't be sure if I will be free at that time; it is
out of my control. Therefore, there is no way I can commit to and make the
June 1st early registration deadline, even though I would like to pay $50
now instead of $60 later.
Answer: You bring up a great point, and we recognize this difficulty! We
have decided to extend the $50/ticket registration fee for all military
personnel and their partners. In other words, all military service men and
women are exempt from the June 1st early registration fee deadline, and
are eligible to pay only $50/ticket.
**********
Question: I am definitely coming, but am not sure if my spouse/partner
will also be able to come. I am therefore waiting to see if my
spouse/partner can come before sending in my registration fee. But that
means that I will most likely miss the early registration deadline, and
thus the $10 discount. What can I do?
Answer: We treat this as part of our installment payment plan. Basically,
anyone is eligible to send in a partial payment of at least $10 before the
June 1st early registration deadline. This will guarantee them the
$50/ticket rate, even if they pay the remainder of their balance after
June 1st. So in this specific case, our recommendation would be to send in
your money now before the June 1st deadline to guarantee the $50/ticket
price. If your spouse/partner decides that they can come to the reunion
after the June 1st deadline, they will be eligible for the $50/ticket
price as long as you have already initiated your payment before the June
1st deadline.
**********
Question: I am very interested in going to the reunion, but I don't want
to be the only person I know there. I've been talking to my old high
school friends about whether or not they are going, and they feel the same
way. What should we do?
Answer: You have touched upon the biggest dilemma that we face when trying
to encourage people to attend the reunion! No one wants to go unless their
friends go; and their friends don't want to go unless their other friends
will go. Everyone is waiting for everyone else to make the first move.
Ahhhhhhh! :) You can see how this drives us crazy as reunion organizers! I
can't think of anyone that doesn't want this reunion to be fun, and a
success. The more people that come, the more fun and successful the
reunion will be. My advice (and plea) to you and your friends is to take
the plunge! If you and your group of friends plan to come to the reunion,
then you are ensured to know other people who will be attending and you
will have a blast at the reunion. (Did I mention that there is food and an
open bar included all night???) And who knows? Maybe when some of your
long lost friends see your name listed on our page, that will convince
them to come, too. A guaranteed fun time for all!
**********
Question: What's this thing I am hearing about a reunion picnic. Is this
something where I can bring my friends, kids, family? Can you give me more
details?
Answer: Yes! The ERHS Class of 1993 family picnic will be held at the
Laurel picnic area in Greenbelt Park on Saturday, August 30th from
12pm-3pm. This is a free potluck event, so all friends and families are
asked to bring their own food/drink (please note that alcohol is NOT
permitted in the park). Please also feel free to bring games, toys, and
other things that might add to the fun of the family-oriented day. We hope
to see many of you there. Contact Brighid (Harpe) Willson if you are
interested in attending the picnic so that she can get a headcount.
**********
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to
email any of the reunion organizers. Alternatively, feel free to email the
class email list, and we can get a dialog going on.
Thanks, and hope to see you at the reunion!
Kristen: kmundy1@prodigy.net
UPDATE (4/25/03)
Please email Brighid (Harpe)
Willson if you are interested in going. We need a close-to-official
head-count to purchase the permit. Based on previous ERHS class experience
we anticipate less than 100 people. If we are 50 and under then the cost
is significantly different, so we MUST have a good idea of this in the
next few weeks. Thanks!
P.S. Because this event is on Labor Day weekend there is the added bonus,
for those folks who may be interested, in taking part in the Greenbelt
Labor Day festivities that include a carnival with book fair, bingo, good
food, interesting games and activities, as well as evening shows; a
parade; and the always-popular Miss Greenbelt and Little Miss Greenbelt
Pageants.
UPDATE (4/23/03)
Dear ERHS Class of 1993,
Our 10 year reunion is fast approaching! Thank you to everyone who has
already sent in their registration and fees. Each registration we receive
brings us closer to our deposit goals, and more importantly adds to the
list of people to look forward to seeing at the reunion! To see a current
list of reunion attendees, visit the 10 year reunion website at:
http://mail.med.upenn.edu/~wangk/erhs/reunion/
Our current goal is to raise another $2000 in registration fees by June
1st to secure our deposit requirements. This will guarantee our reunion at
the Marriott in Greenbelt. So if you haven't yet sent in your registration
fee, why wait?
To encourage early registrations, we will be imposing an early
registration deadline. Registrations postmarked and sent by June 1st will
be $50, as previously stated. After June 1st, the
registration fee will rise to $60. If you are interested in paying
your registration fee in installments, please contact Kristen at kmundy1@prodigy.net to set up
arrangements. If you start your installment payments before June 1st, you
will still qualify for the $50 early registration fee. So do not delay and
send in your registration now!
To register for the 10 year reunion, please mail a completed registration
form, questionnaire (optional), and check to Kristen (Mundy) Wells. The
registration form and questionnaire are available as downloads from our
website (see below). Checks should be made out to "Kristen Mundy" since
the account is still under her maiden name.
Mail everything to:
As we finalize our planning for the 10 year reunion, we are also looking
forward to additional planning of the family picnic to be held to
preceding Saturday, August 30, 2003. We are considering holding the picnic
at either Greenbelt Park or Greenbelt Lake (Buddy Attick Park). We
envision that this picnic will be a family-oriented affair, so children
will be welcome! The cost will be free, with food being pot-luck. Who
would be interested in this? Please send an email to Brighid brighid@starpower.net to let us
know if you would be interested in having a family-oriented picnic, and
which location you would prefer (Greenbelt Park or Greenbelt Lake).
Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. I am always
happy to hear from you.
Ken Wang
PS. The success of our reunion depends on you! Please help us spread the
word to fellow classmates who are not on the emailing list, or who may be
unaware of the reunion plans. Have them register their contact information
with us at the class website. Thanks!
UPDATE (3/10/03)
Dear Classmates,
I am writing to all of you again (on the eve of having my second child--so
you won't hear from me for a while) in order to impress upon you the great
need we have presently to gather more registration and funds for our
glorious ten year reunion. A mere five and a half months away, the final
deadline for money to secure our venue is not far off. We have been having
to meet deposit deadlines every three months since December 20th.
The second installment, due today (3/10/03), was put in the mail by
Kristen last week. We have met these deadlines, but the ability to do so
in a timely fashion has come from loans and donations of our fellow
classmates (special thanks to Colin Guard, Jen Sale). Our total ticket
sales are presently for 31 registrants, totalling: $1550. We have paid
$2000 in deposits (just to give you an idea of our situation). We have a
deadline of $2000 due June 10th. It is critical, therefore, that we get
more of you registering early! We have an explicit contract for
installment payments to be made to Marriott in order to keep the good
thing we have with them. We do not want to jeopardize that by missing
deadlines or falling short! That is why it is imperative that you send in
your registration and payment as soon as you can. We are fairly confident
that there are 200 (a min. of 160) people wanting and willing to attend.
However, the numbers being where they are at present is not terribly
encouraging!
In order to wrap up other details for the event, like DJ and family
picnic, we must have a greater response. We have not yet been able to sign
a DJ to our reunion because the funds are too low. And planning of the
family picnic is also on hold until the main event comes together.
A payment deadline of June 1st is now in place with the planning commitee.
Any registration received after that date will be charged a late fee of
$10 per person (thus tickets will be $60/ea). Please don't wait that long
and wind up penalized. We hate to implement such a fee, but it will simply
be necessary by that point to get the funds we need. REMEMBER, if you are
feeling light in the pocketbook and cannot make the full $50 payment at
once, every little bit helps, we are accepting partial payments (with the
understanding that you pay in full by the final deadline; you will not be
penalized for making installments payments!). So, please, send your info
in today!
The registration (plus optional questionnaire) document(s) can be found here
and here.
(SPECIAL NOTE: If you have seen notices saying to go to eroosevelths.com
or classmates.com to register for this event, IGNORE THEM. The only
official site for all class business with regard to the reunion or other
class-related updates is at the URL found in this email.) Please download,
print and send with your payment to Kristen (Mundy) Wells. Make check
payable to "Kristen Mundy" (account still in her maiden name):
Kristen (Mundy) Wells
Also, to update the class, weekly ads are running in many local papers
back in the Greenbelt area (Bowie, Laurel, Berwyn Heights, etc.). It is
through this, reliance on the class website and word-of-mouth, we hope to
get as many old classmates as possibly to attend the event. To those of
you who now reside in other states, we hope will make it too. We have set
the reunion for a holiday weekend, with the main event on a Sunday
evening, with hopes that for those travelling you will have plenty of time
to get here! And, make note, we already have some registrants coming from
abroad. So if they can make it, we certainly hope you will too!
Again, I cannot stress enough how important it is that we get more
registrations in early. Thanks and hope to see you in August!!
For any further information go to our class reunion
page or feel free to email me with any questions.
-Brighid (Harpe) Willson
UPDATE (1/16/03)
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday
season. Thank you to everyone who has already registered for our 10 year
reunion. We are looking forward to seeing you all at our reunion on August
31, 2003.
To everyone else.... we need your help!!! Our contract for the venue
stipulates that we must make regular monetary deposits leading up to our
reunion event. For our next deadline we must raise another $1000 for a
March 10th deposit. If we do not fulfill this deposit, we will be in
danger of losing our reunion venue.
For those of you who are certain that you will be attending the reunion, I
urge you to send your registration AND PAYMENT in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as
this will greatly help us meet our deposit deadlines.
We are also accepting installment payments for the reunion. You can choose
to send in whatever amount you can afford to at the moment. We will keep
track of your balance due and send you balance updates by email or post
whenever your balance changes until your registration fee is paid off. Any
amount that you can send NOW will help greatly.
For more details about our reunion, please visit our dedicated reunion
webpage.
