The Plays of Kimberly Pritchard

China Moon: A black comedy satirizing traditional gender roles/conventional marriage as well as 19th century dramatic techniques.  The action centers around an anniversary party turned bizarre as a wealthy maniac inventor develops the unbreakable egg and plots the downfall of his wife's lesbian lover.  (Running Time: 90 minutes; 4 women, 3 men.)

The Box: Through performance art-style language and image, Lorraine and her mother reveal the horrid secret that they have contained in an old magician’s box¾and that has been keeping them contained inside their city apartment.  No longer able to endure each other or their seclusion, the two struggle and compete for a way out.  (Running time: 50 minutes; 3 women or 2 women, 1 man).

Whiter by Far than an Egg: Flora Agnes, an aspiring young soprano, slips into an illusory world where two companions, Mavis and Gussie, help her recover from an abusive relationship with her husband, a famed opera singer.  (Running time: 45 minutes; 3 women, 1 man)

The Killing Jar: In order to save her rapidly disintegrating relationship with her lover Iris, Ava confronts a recurring dream that has come to rule their bed, disturbing their sleep and depriving their sexuality.  She begins to discover the culprit in a past riddled with paradoxical Catholic imagery that is both sexual and intolerant. (Running time: 80 minutes; 4 women, 1 man).

As They are In Bed a Dream Gobbles Her Head (a quick monodrama): A short version of The Killing Jar.  Ava struggles to arrest an invasive recurring dream before her lover IRIS walks out the door. (Running time 15 minutes; 3 women)

Heeling: A 5-minute play encapsulating an encounter between Discalced (barefoot) Carmelite nuns and high-heeled exotic dancers.  During a rainstorm, the women commiserate about foot pain, sacrifice, and suffering as the dancers provide the traveling nuns with dry refuge in their dressing-rooms.
