Many of my research sites are located in the White Mountains in New
Hampshire, at Hubbard Brook
Experimental Forest, which is a Long
Term Ecological Research site (LTER). I'm
primarily interested in multiple disturbance factors (wind and ice
storms, tree diseases, acid rain, logging, etc.),
how these variables have affected the community dynamics, and how we can
use this information to make predictions about the future of the forest.
I am currently working as a post-doctoral associate at Proctor Maple Research Center, a Field Research Station of the Department of Botany & Agricultural Biochemistry in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences at the University of Vermont. In northern Vermont, I am working on projects that examine the relationship between sugar maple regeneration, land-use history and calcium levels in the soil. |
