Welcome to the (predominantly) Brown Hockey page. Much of the material found on these pages was found on the HOCKEY-L and INFO-HOCKEY-L mailing lists.

Brown Women's Hockey

Final record is 22-0-0 ECAC, 10-0-0 Ivy, 28-2-1 overall--1st Place ECAC

News:

  • Brown lost to Northeastern 2-1 in the ECAC Semifinals on Saturday, March 15.
  • With an undefeated season, Brown has won the Ivy and ECAC regular season titles.
  • Tri-captain Katie King became Brown's all-time leading scorer with 206 points (123G, 83A) after her goal in the ECAC Semifinals.
  • King and Freshman Tara Mounsey have been named Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Year, as well as ECAC Player and Rookie of the Year, respectively. Coach Margaret Degidio-Murphy was also named ECAC Coach of the Year. A host of other members were also honored.
  • King and Mounsey played with Team USA in the Women's World Championships in April 1997, and will be on the Olympic team in Nagano in 1998. They are featured in a Herald interview where they discussed their experiences at WWC '97.
  • Both King and Mounsey were recently named members of the US Women's Ice Hockey olympic team which will compete in Nagano, Japan in 1998.

    Final record is 4-16-2 ECAC, 3-7-1 Ivy, 7-19-3 overall--12th place in ECAC

    News:

  • Head Coach Bob Gaudet has left Brown to assume the head coaching position at Dartmouth. His replacement is Roger Grillo, a former assistant coach at the University of Vermont.
  • Switcheroo: Former assistant coach under Gaudet, Jamie Rice, has also left for Dartmouth. Rob Abel, former second assistant at Dartmouth replaces him as first assistant at Brown.
