Brown Women's Hockey: 2000 ECAC Champions!

    News:

  • Brown advanced to the AWCHA National Championship game after defeating Dartmouth 4-2 on Friday, March 24. The Bears meet #3 Minnesota, who upset the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs in a stunning 3-2 come-from-behind victory.
  • Ali Brewer was chosen as the winner of the 2000 Patty Kazmaier Award, awarded to the best women's player in the nation!
  • The AWCHA National Championship seedings were announced on Monday, March 20. #1 Brown plays #4 Dartmouth on Friday at 5PM, and #2 Minnesota-Duluth plays #3 Minnesota in the nightcap at 8PM.
  • Brown won the ECAC Championship on Sunday, March 19 with a 6-3 win over Dartmouth. Ali Brewer, Christina Sorbara and Jordan Jiskra all made the ECAC All-Tournament team, and Brewer took home the MVP award.
  • Five players made the All-Ivy team for 1999-2000 and Ali Brewer was named co-Player of the Year. Several Brown players also made the ECAC All Star teams
  • Brown won both the ECAC and Ivy League regular season titles.
  • Tara Mounsey and Ali Brewer have been selected as Top 10 Candidates for the Patty Kazmaier Award, the women's version of the Hobey Baker.
