Get me off this stupid site!

What is the purpose of the World Wide Web? Its creators might say something like "To disseminate information throughout the world using text, graphics and other media." But we all know what a load of crap that is. The purpose of the Web is to waste time. Lots of time. This page exists to jump start procrastination efforts. Hopefully you'll find it useful in that regard. Select a section below, or just scroll your life away. (Please note that this page also serves as my bookmark list away from home, so a lot of the links are pretty boring)

News

When I was in college, the constant availability of an internet connection and lack of a decent TV signal caused me to rely on the web for all of my contact to the world outside Hanover. Here are my favorite news sites:

Macintosh

When Dartmouth told me I had to buy a Macintosh I wasn't happy. But slowly, I left the dark side and learned to love my mac. Over the years, I found a bunch of Mac web sites that became essential daily visits. If you have a mac, check them out. If you don't, you should get one.

Issues

Searching the Internet

Finding stuff on the web has gone from bad to worse in the 5 years that I've been online. Luckily there are a few search engines that still give relevant results.

Fun/Only on the Web

Need to kill some serious time? These pages will help you towards that goal. Some of them are downright frightening in their randomness. I know that a lot of the links are broken. I just don't care. Here's one that works: a great essay on why coke is better in bottles.

Random Web Pages of Mine

Here's a bunch of old junk I have on my hard drive that has no better place than on the internet.
