Last night, we went out with Doug and Kristin to see Paul Thomas Anderson's new movie, "Punch Drunk Love", starring Adam Sandler and Emily Watson. This is likely the movie that will establish Adam Sandler as a "real" actor. Although he plays this part as a variation of his previous roles, he brings a real sadness and creepy anger to this movie. You will be impressed by him and by the rest of the cast. We all really enjoyed it.
Before the movie, we all had dinner at Cambridge Brewing Company, where we shared a tower (82 ounces) of Great Pumpkin Ale. Doug and Dan have both had difficulty in their home-brewing of pumpkin ale (Doug says his is over-spiced, ours is still bottle conditionning, so it may improve, but early tastes suggest that it resembles a cinnamon flavored Bud Light), so it was good to enjoy some tasty pumpkin beer.
Dan and I also brewed "Breakfast Stout" this weekend. It's an oatmeal stout, to which we added some coffee...making it a healthy breakfast!
