eMule is a private
email community about the music and fans of the band, Gov’t Mule.
Here, you’ll find information on the bands recordings, tour,
appearances and related subjects. This network also includes fans
who legally trade quality audio recordings of Gov’t Mule shows.
The community was founded by Kirk Anderson and is managed
by volunteer fans, not the band.
Gov’t Mule allows us to record and trade most of their shows. Their
official web site can be found at www.mule.net. Please adhere
to their official taping and trading policy as posted at http://mule.net/legal_policies.html.
eMule is intended to be a place to pursue our collective interest in the
band that we love. List content is intended to revolve around the
band, its members and music. There are times when the band is not
recording or touring when other subjects are likely to find their way
to the list. Likewise, the band and member activities overlap into
a multitude of areas that may lend themselves to disagreement on topics
such as politics, religion, important social issues, charity, etc…
It is natural that ‘conversations’ amongst members will
drift around these subjects as they would with any group of friends or
associates.
As eMule has been around for years, it is a mature community and list
etiquette should be clear and understood. This charter does not
ban any specific topic. However, list administration will strictly
enforce list etiquette in the context of any discussion. Please
note the following general guidelines:
We are here primarily to talk about Gov’t Mule and music
Members should post in a manner that is respectful and considerate of
the greater eMule community
Hateful diatribes and personal attacks toward anyone, especially fellow
list members, will not be allowed
Extreme profanity is unwelcome
Using the list to forward personal agendas of any kind is not allowed
If you’re angry with a list member about their opinion, adhere to
the 24 hour rule. Wait until tomorrow and you will be less likely
to violate the charter
In all posts that you either initiate or respond, members are required
to respect the fact that the general list population is not interested
in an argument between members on any topic, but especially on non-list
content
Failure to adhere to these basic guidelines will result in action from
the eMule administrative team. Actions may include having your posts
forwarded to the team for approval before they are allowed to post to
the list. Membership termination is possible. The admins are
pretty laid back and have no desire to play cop or regulate content. But
this is a private community and all members are expected to uphold this
charter.
We are all here to foster a relaxed and enjoyable Gov’t Mule-centric,
environment and need your help and support. Please remember that
your contributions are valued and that you help to create the vibe of
this community. Members are very passionate about music and most
everything else. We won’t always agree with each other. But
respecting our differences is what makes the list a great place to hang
out, share musical passion and meet cool people.
If you run into any problems that are list related, please feel free to
e-mail the team at EMULE-request@LISTS.NETSPACE.ORG and we'll try to help.
Thank you for choosing to be a part of this community and we welcome
your participation.
